Getting started
What you need before your first deposit, and what happens when you make one.
Connect a wallet
Any injected wallet works — MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet and anything else that speaks EIP-1193. Connecting signs a message to prove the address is yours. It does not move anything and it does not approve anything.
Sluice never asks for a private key, a seed phrase, or a signature that grants a transfer you did not initiate. Every transaction that moves your money is built in front of you, simulated against the chain, and shown with its exact amounts before you sign it. A token approval is the exception — it is sent without a simulation, and Sluice asks for the exact amount it needs rather than an unlimited one.
Get on Robinhood Chain
Sluice runs on Robinhood Chain, chain ID 4663. If your wallet has never seen it, the site offers to add it; if it is on the wrong network, the site offers to switch. Both are one click and both are reversible.
Gas is paid in ETH and the chain is inexpensive to use, but you still need a small balance to sign anything at all. Fund the wallet before you try to deposit, not during.
Make a deposit
Pick a pool, enter an amount, and choose one of two routes. Both end with you holding shares of the same position; they differ in what they cost to get there.
| Route | What happens | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| ETH only | Your ETH is wrapped and half of it is swapped for the other token, inside the same transaction. | One transaction. The swap pays the pool’s fee on half your deposit, so roughly half a percent, plus whatever the swap moves the price. |
| Both tokens | You supply both sides yourself. No swap happens. | None of that swap cost — but you approve each token first, so up to two extra transactions and their gas. |
Every deposit carries a minimum share count you set as a slippage bound, and a deadline. Both are enforced by the contract, not by the page: if the position moves against your bound before the transaction lands, it reverts and you keep your money.
After you are in
There is nothing to maintain. Fees compound into the position on their own, the fee the pool charges tracks how much the price is moving, and agents rotate liquidity as conditions change.
Your positions page shows the shares you hold, your slice of the pooled position, and how many times it has compounded. It does not put a currency value on them — the vault publishes its liquidity as a raw Uniswap number rather than an amount of either token. Withdrawing is one transaction and asks nobody’s permission, though a balance worn down to almost nothing can be too small for either path to redeem.
